Competition Terms and Conditions


Leafy Salad: The Healthy Choice.

1. By entering into this competition all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the following terms and conditions.

2. The competition requires entrants to create and submit one original advertisement for Leafy Salads using the theme Leafy Salad: The Healthy Choice.

3. There is no charge for entry. The competition is open to all UK primary schools educating Key Stage 2 (7 – 11) children in England and Wales only (check with school mailings re Scotland and NI.).

4. The closing date of the competition is the 30th September 2017

 

5. The advertisement must be landscape format (horizontal – long edges top and bottom) on an A4 or A3 sheet of paper. Remember that if entries are submitted on A3 paper they will probably need to be folded which may not suit some collage style advertisments.

6. The advertisement must be created using pencil, felt tip, crayon, paint, collage on paper.

7. The advertisement must be designed and completed by (a) Key Stage 2 child/ren. This competition is designed to encourage children to think about healthy eating and the role leafy salads can play so, although there may be an element of adult supervision, please remember that it should be the entrant’s own work. The advertisement may use the advertisement template available as a download from the website www.makemoreofsalad.com/things-to-learn . 8. The advertisement is for leafy salads. The leafy salad products include all types of lettuce, Iceberg, Baby Gem, Romaine/Cos, Butterhead, Roundhead, Lollo Rosso, Oak Leaf, Frisée, Lollo Verde, Baby leaf including spinach, watercress, rocket.

9. Advertisements created using digital only design or which are designed and output using only a computer will not be eligible for entry.

 

10. Up to 3 advertisement entries per class for each school is allowed.

11. The entries can be submitted in 2 ways
11.1. By Post – Send the artwork to Leafy Salad Competition, c/o PamLloyd, 7 Montpelier Court, Station Road, Bristol, BS6 5EA.
11.2. Electronically – Entries can be submitted digitally. Please email a high resolution scan (300 dpi), high resolution pdf or high resolution picture of the original artwork with Leafy Salad Competition in the subject line. Email digital files to fresh@pamlloyd.com. Maximum file size 7mb.

12. To enable the entrants to be contacted, please provide the information as listed below:
12.1. The name/s of the responsible teacher/Year head/head teacher
12.2. The name and address of the school
12.3. Class reference/number/name
12.4. Contact phone number
12.5. Contact email
12.6. Social handles if submitted

13. If you would like your school to be mentioned on @makemoreofsalad social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) please include your school’s social handle/@name on the reverse of the entry.

14. For postal entries the contact information should appear on the reverse of the adverts. Please take care that the writing on the reverse does not show through the paper.

15. If you are submitting your entry as a high-resolution pdf/scan/image please ensure that you provide the information listed in Point 9 above in the body of the email.  

 

16. There will be 1 winner and 3 runners up per key stage 2 year group (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6). The competition winner will be selected from the key stage 2 year group winners.  
17. There will be 4 winning entries. These will be made up of 1 winning entry per key stage 2 year group.

18. The winner in each year group will be the advertisement that in the opinion of the judges best conveys the theme Leafy Salad: The Healthy Choice.

19. There is one prize for the winners. The winners’ advertisements will be published in FirstNews magazine at a date to be agreed with FirstNews.

20. The winners will be notified no later than the 15th November 2017.

21. No purchase is necessary. The prize has no monetary value. There is no cash alternative to the prize.

22. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If the Promoter considers any entrant has acted inappropriately or dishonestly in entering the competition the Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award any prize.
23. Proof of posting is not proof of entry. Neither the Promoter nor its agencies are responsible for entries that are lost or mislaid.

24. Neither the Promoter nor its agencies are responsible for entries that are lost or deleted as a result of technical failures or otherwise, including any such failure that is within the control of the Promoter or its agencies. Proof of submission of entry is not proof of receipt of entry.

25. It will not be possible to return hard copies of the advertisements. For the avoidance of doubt, all entries will become the property of the Promoter. All rights for usage of the advertisement entries will belong to the Promoter and their appointed agencies to be used as they decide for the purposes of promoting Leafy Salads.

26. The competition entries will be shared on social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram). Competition entries will be shared with print and online media and include mention of the school
